The people against weaponised tariffs

Tariffs shouldn't be weapons

For decades, we've stood against destructive and unfair tariffs that get in the way of progress - now we need your help more than ever.

The Trump administration's wave of worldwide tariffs is one of the biggest upheavals to world trade in the last hundred years.

Workers and producers in the Global South are being hit hard. Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are facing a  20% tariff, and Cambodia 19%.

These are the countries that produce clothes for the US, UK and many other countries.

As Trump once more threatens to raise tariffs against countries for simply saying no to his plan to invade Greenland, we need to tell UK decision makers that this isn’t how we want trade to work.

We need to show them urgently that the public is against the weaponisation of tariffs - and in favour of trade that builds peace and progress.

More than ever, we will need the UK to stand by countries in the Global South, opposing the tariffs and taking steps like the Fashion Watchdog to help stop the worst impacts.
