Don't cut farmers out of a green future

TELL MPs: make sure new deforestation laws work for smallholder farmers, not against them

Millions of smallholder farmers grow the cocoa, coffee and other crops we enjoy every day. Many are already struggling with low incomes, climate change and unstable markets.

New UK deforestation laws could make things even harder. Unless they’re designed fairly, these rules risk piling costs onto farmers, stripping away their control, and even cutting them out of the very markets they depend on.

We need rules that protect forests and support farmers. That means governments and companies must invest in farmers through training and resources, guaranteeing fair prices, giving farmers control of their data, and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making spaces.

Add your name today and call on the UK Government: don’t cut smallholder farmers out of fair, deforestation-free supply chains.
