Share J Sathya's story

"She is not compensated fairly for the amount of work that she's doing. If she goes out and do the same work in an export company, she will be paid higher but since she has two young kids and the unit is next to her home, she is working here. We should come with a plan to fix minimum wages so that people like Santhanam are paid fairly for the amount of work that they do." J Sathya, homeworker, India.

Homeworkers are fashion's hidden workforce. With no minimum wage, no guarantee of work, no maternity pay, no pensions – their working conditions and pay are some of the worst in the industry.

Clothing companies brands rely on the hard work of people like J Sathya - we need them to take action to ensure that these vital workers have these essential rights.

Homeworkers in India are campaigning for formal rights and benefits, like pensions, maternity leave, and sick pay.

Everyone should be paid a fair and living wage. Stand with homeworkers and share J Sathya's story with fashion companies.

Please note: The women featured in this campaign are not necessarily making clothes for the brands we are targeting. However the stories you send are representative of the experiences of homeworkers around the world.
